The Elbow Blitz. Created for the Savage at Heart.
There is an issue with “hand heavy” blitzes when our competition holds their ground, refusing to fall back on their heels. In addition to this, an effectively tight guard can crowd or completely block the punches [often the case with strong Dutch Kickboxers].
This is where the elbows come in. The stubborn and tight defense works against our competition in this case. We use the elbow blitz to our advantage to stab straight through the competition’s soul. . . literally:
Notes from the video to remember.
Step 1: Throw the One-Two.
Step 2: Step through to the opposite stance
with a spear elbow.
Step 3: Sink your weight as soon as your
foot hits the ground for maximum power.
Step 4 [Bonus]: Hand trap and peel
for the finishing elbow.
*The opponent being stuck on the ropes multiplies the damage
caused. He or she cannot absorb the impact by stepping back.
*Right below the sternum is the solar plexus. If hit, it is a
vulnerable target that can paralyze the diaphragm to interrupt
the opponent’s breathing.
*The upper body and leg step through to the opposite stance
simultaneously. Dropping the weight of the body as the elbow
stabs forward.
*An effective technique against opponents with a tight
guard and defense.
