Knockout Kick Counter to the Teep

Knockout Kick Counter to the Teep

Countering the Teep and Making a Statement

Getting consistently teeped could not only be very frustrating, but it is also a range finder for your opponent. Chances are that once it is established, he or she will be in control of what happens next.

With that said. If your parry defense is not enough to force them to stop bothering you and stabbing their toes into your stomach.. It is time to make a statement. This week’s technique is something I like to establish early, while I still have a lot of pop and power in my legs. If you time it right, it could get you the knockout. If you time it a bit off, it still makes a statement and off balances your opponent:

Key Points to Remember

-You want to use your left hand against the teep (Left from your POV) regardless at which leg coming you.

-Swing/Parry your opponents leg off to the side as you simultaneously step your lead leg back into the southpaw stance (Orthodox stance if you are a lefty).

-Fire the kick to the head for maximum damage and to deter your opponent from teeping you again. Keep the hands up!
